1. Who is responsible for your information
Dominican Quest is the controller of personal information handled through this website and its reservation services. Our office is at Calle El Conde No. 101, Local 201, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to [email protected] or by WhatsApp/phone at +1 849 763 8642.
2. Information we process
Information you provide
When you search, request, or purchase a service, we may process your name, email address, phone number, passenger count, travel dates, pickup and destination details, flight information, accommodation, special requests, and messages. If you contact us through WhatsApp, email, or live chat, we process the information you choose to include in that conversation.
Technical and usage information
Our hosting and security providers process technical request information such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested page, timestamps, and security signals so the website can be delivered and protected. If you consent to analytics, Google Analytics also collects page views, interactions, approximate location, device/browser information, and a first-party client identifier. We do not ask Google Analytics to collect names, email addresses, reservation details, or other directly identifying form content.
Payments
When an online payment option is offered, payment details are processed by the displayed payment provider. Dominican Quest does not intend to receive or store a complete payment-card number through this website.
3. Why we use information
- Provide quotes, reservations, transportation, excursions, and customer support.
- Coordinate drivers, suppliers, accommodations, and other providers needed for your requested service.
- Process and document payments, cancellations, changes, refunds, and service communications.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and prevent misuse of the website.
- With your consent, understand website traffic and improve pages and booking flows.
- With your consent, provide and remember the optional Crisp live-chat session.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, safety, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations.
4. Legal bases for European visitors
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, we rely on the following legal bases as appropriate:
- Contract or steps before a contract: to quote, arrange, and provide the service you request.
- Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, improve, and support the business where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: for Google Analytics cookies and for loading the optional Crisp chat widget. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where records or disclosures are required by applicable law.
6. Providers and international transfers
We use service providers to run the website and fulfill requests. These may include Cloudflare for delivery and security, Supabase for booking-related data services, Google Fonts for typefaces, Cloudinary and Unsplash for selected image delivery, Google Analytics when consented, Crisp when consented, communication providers such as WhatsApp and email, payment processors displayed during checkout, and local transportation or tour suppliers needed to perform your reservation.
Some providers may process information outside your country. Where European transfer rules apply, we rely on the provider’s applicable transfer safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses, as available.
7. How long information is kept
GA4 event and user data is configured for 14-month retention, while aggregated standard reports may remain available longer. Analytics cookies can remain for up to two years unless you withdraw consent or clear them sooner. Crisp chat cookies normally expire after six months; conversation records may be kept longer when a visitor starts a support conversation.
Reservation, transaction, communication, and operational records are retained only as long as reasonably needed to provide service, handle follow-up, meet accounting or legal requirements, resolve disputes, and protect against fraud. Retention may vary based on the record and applicable law.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information; object to certain processing; and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
Send requests to [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law allows or requires it.
9. Children’s information
The website is intended for adults arranging travel. A parent or guardian may provide a child’s passenger details when necessary for a reservation, such as age or child-seat requirements. Children should not submit information directly without adult involvement.
10. Policy updates
We may update this notice when services, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes may also be highlighted on the website.
